Discover by Education Vessel

Groups of up to six people can learn about these waterways and the future access to them aboard a 20-foot motor launch. We can explore more extensively the tidal waters of the Delaware River and learn about plans for public access and educational programs. Trip activities include sampling fish with an otter trawl and cast net, examining plankton, and measuring the dissolved-oxygen content of the water. These trips can last from one to three hours. Routes include:

  • Wiggins Park Marina to the Back Channel and Cooper River
  • Independence Seaport Museum to Back Channel and Cooper River
  • Camden and Philadelphia waterfronts
  • Delaware and Schuylkill rivers
  • Camden/Philadelphia to Trenton and back

All expeditions are by invite only. Expeditions are geared towards leaders who promote access to and education of the Delaware River and its tributaries.
